Tubi Super Bowl Ad

I chose to write about this ad because this ad really intrigued me while I was watching the Super Bowl. The Super Bowl always runs ads, from Doritos chips, to Mountain Dew, to car commercials and many more. Paying for the ads can add up to millions for just 15-30 seconds of run time. There was one commercial that stood out to me the most and that was the Tubi Commercial. Funny thing is, is that I did not know what Tubi was until the ad ran and I was confused because I was the one that had the remote at a party and got yelled at for supposedly changing the channel which was obviously not the case

Fox bought Tubi in 2020 and people haven't heard of it until the ad ran and now all I see is ads about Tubi the Streaming Service. The ad was ran for 15 seconds during the 4th quarter when the game was close and the world shook due to the add. (Not literally)  Many athletes or celebrates got frustrated at the ad and even one athlete claiming the the ad almost started a fight between her and her husband

Tubi's Value proposition is as followed, free service aimed at consumers who are fatigued by a fragmented landscape of multiple increasingly costly subscription services. Value Propositions are usually short and sweet and get to the point fast and quick. Tubi's Value proposition is a great one but can seem complex when you read it for the first time. There value proposition basically states that it is a streaming service that is cheap and affordable and rarely or does not change it's prices due to the volume of customers or the inflation going on in the world

The biggest challenge that Tubi is facing is other streaming services. Such as Netflix, HBO max, HULU and many others. I personally don't have Tubi but going through everything it reminds me of HULU, the most because it offers live tv. Another Factor is that Tubi is completely free and only have to sign up for an account.

The Marketing idea was great and was a great ad but I would personally create an ad that didn't make people mad or get angry. I understand the point and why they did it, and it was to make everyone's head turn because they thought the game was back on so everyone had to pay attention to it causes that is what everyone is watching. Marketing is all about trying to get creative and grab everyone's attention while marketing the companies brand. If I were to produce the ad I would have gone with a supposed new movie trailer or like a marvel trailer and then did what they did with the ad. Getting the viewers attention with a new movie, show or something along those lines would have most likely worked out the same.

What I learned about this assignment is that everyone is trying to get the viewers attention no matter how they do it. The ad's are also getting more creative over time to see what works best with different viewers. I also learned that there are so many streaming services that aren't free but have cheaper plans that include ads but none except for peacock are free, but you still have to buy the premium version to watch certain shows that are only available on that streaming site
